Hong Kong’s Inspired Entrepreneurs

An HKTDC study finds that six per cent of Hong Kong’s young people are running their own business, while another 11 per cent want to start one.

Entrepreneurs, as the saying goes, see opportunities everywhere; which is why entrepreneurship is so closely linked with economic development. Armed with innovative ideas, entrepreneurs are the doers and shakers, injecting new vigour into an economy as they reach for commercial success.

The greater economic “transaction,” however, is that when entrepreneurs succeed, society at large also benefits. By starting a new business, entrepreneurs create new job opportunities and provide new impetus to industry. The hallmark of a successful entrepreneur is that ability to drive firms to improve, enhance competitiveness and spark economic activity.
