Hong Kong has announced major updates to its Technology Talent Admission Scheme (TechTAS) to strengthen its position as a global innovation and technology (I&T) hub. The enhancements aim to streamline the process for overseas and Mainland tech professionals to work in Hong Kong, supporting the city’s growing tech ecosystem.

Key Updates to TechTAS
-Parallel Processing: Companies and applicants can now apply for headcount quotas and visas simultaneously, reducing approval time.
-Expanded Eligibility: The previous requirement for R&D involvement in 14 designated technology areas has been removed, allowing recruitment in emerging tech fields.
-Dedicated Channel for HK–Shenzhen I&T Park: A one-stop application pathway is now available for tenants and incubatees of the Hong Kong–Shenzhen Innovation & Technology Park.
